Pivotal quotes from the EduceToday journey.

June 2021

“Our life is what our thoughts make it”
― Marcus Aurelius

March 2020, UK Lockdown and yet another rug was pulled from under my feet. I lost three income streams overnight, five years after being widowed, in 2014.
Life had been one long slog, one foot in front of the other, looking for answers to improve my work life balance and to establish a reliable source of income.
I clung to what I knew, an established veterinary career, yet, I knew there was more.
I made the decision to believe in myself and to centre my passions so that they could become my life’s focus. My hobbies became the focus of my thoughts and my thoughts became positive and encouraging.
I invested all my available time, energy and the rainy day savings into Transformational Life Coaching, NLP and Hypnotherapy, I found my passion and EduceToday was launched, almost to the day, twelve months later.

“Our bodies have five senses: touch, smell, taste, sight, hearing. But not to be overlooked are the senses of our souls: intuition, peace, foresight, trust, empathy. The differences between people lie in their use of these senses; most people don’t know anything about the inner senses while a few people rely on them just as they rely on their physical senses, and in fact probably even more.”
― C. JoyBell C.

I always return from a beach walk with Copperpaws wanting to remember the colours of the crashing waves, the sound of the gulls and the smell of the salt air.
It took time for me to appreciate that each walk is a unique adventure and that by being present, noting and allowing the awakening of each of my senses, my creativity was released.
The ebb and flow of the tide mirrors the action and reflection necessary to balance our life. We must always make time to sense our world, to appreciate our surroundings, to calm and to reset our thoughts to encourage inner peace.

And the most precious, yet the simplest of quotes, is in memory of my first and best life mentor, my husband. He always believed that the best was yet to come, he encouraged me to sit with a cuppa, to plan and to follow my dreams and taught me to always plan for tomorrow. He assured me that my life was just beginning and I have honoured his request that I continue my journey.
I did not infer that the following words from our favourite song would ever come so true, as they have. I share them with my son, with all my friends and with you, dear reader,

“Just what you want to be. You will be in the End”
J Hayward.

So, if this has inspired you – I am grateful for this. My top tips for feeling this way:

  1. Maintain the highest of standards in work and in life.
  2. Be prepared to be Yourself.
  3. Be responsible – to yourself and for your contribution to the world.
  4. Be grateful for the smallest of things and pay forward so others might also be
  5. Be ready. When you are – all of the above is easier than the status quo.
  6. If you have to ask for motivation before support, you are not ready or,  you have not identified your desires, fulfilling your purpose.
